I read this thoroughly and looked at the work of the professionals. Honestly, I prefer the work of many bloggers such as yourself, Bea and Cannelle et Vanille. I would encourage all food bloggers to keep plugging away. When people care about food and have a passion for their work it shows.

Lara, thanks so much to you, Bea, and Niki for your awesome overviews of the Boston conference. It’s so gratifying for me to read the responses–as the organizer/program co-chair of the event (and a working food stylist too), the entire weekend was one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever been a part of. The speakers and the attendees were equally amazing, and the size of the conference was completely conducive to actually meeting and getting to know each other. You’ve done a much better job of wrapping up the event than I have, but I wanted to be sure people know about the future. John Carafoli and I are again collaborating with Boston University for another conference in 2009 (we need a year or so for new stuff to happen and to gather up some new, incredible speakers). We are launching a new web site SOON, http://www.foodstylingconference.com, that will be the place for info about this year’s conference + a place to submit session ideas or suggestions for speakers (or to submit yourself as a speaker!) And I’m pulling in-depth articles together (from attendees and material from the speakers) together for The Tweezer Times™, the publication at my web site

I am so envious. When you first started talking about the conference, I sent for information. I can’t recall if it was the expense or the timing, but it didn’t work out for me this year. It sounds like a truly useful conference — next year, I will try harder!
